Starting all over again at age 20. August 2016.
I leave Paris and go into exile in the Golan Heights, far from everything: who am I? There, I discover a group of young pacifists for whom this wild landscape has become a refuge. Here, everyone carries an invisible wound, but together we conduct our own therapy, dancing day and night at wild raves. Camera in hand, I immerse myself in it body and soul, all while confronting my own traumas. Between chaos and ecstasy, *Trance Therapy* is a raw and hypnotic journey where music and transcendence become a weapon of survival—a path to healing.

THE DIRECTOR
Cindy Gzaiel is an author, director, and producer. Trained at the New York Film Academy and ESRA Paris, she has directed several short films, including Le Syndrome du Plongeur, which won the awards for Best Director and Best Cinematography at the GNIFF in London.
From an early age, she immersed herself in border regions, working as a reporter along the border between Israel, Lebanon, and Syria. It was in this volatile region that she wrote, directed, shot, and produced her first feature film, Trance Therapy—a film at the intersection of documentary and fiction, shot over five years, which explores the outlets for Israeli and Arab youth through psychedelic raves. Inspired by her own journey of resilience in the wake of rape, she presents a form of cinematic therapy that is both radical and poetic. Trance Therapy was selected for the Miami Jewish Film Festival (Official Selection 2024). The film received three awards at FICOCC: Best Documentary Feature Film, Best Female Director, and Best Cinematography. Today, she is developing Jnoun, a fiction series blending psychological thriller, the supernatural, and traumatic memory within a unique urban setting. There, she continues to explore the fissures of the psyche, the power of dreams, and invisible forms of violence, in her roles as writer-director, lead actress, and co-producer. At the same time, she is putting together a troupe of actors to launch Cine-Reels, a vertical series featuring dark and caustic humor, currently streaming on Instagram and TikTok. The director is already beginning to build her own community.
