At the age of 20 I became a war reporter, self-exiled in the no-man’s land between Lebanon, Syria and Israel. There, I discovered a generation of young Middle Easterners who found refuge in rave parties.

“ Shot day by day over 4 years, Trance Therapy is a feature film which captures my crazy road- trip through Israel in 2016 at the age of 20, and which ends in the semi-apocalyptic setting of Paris hit by the pandemic in 2020.

THE DIRECTOR
Cindy Gzaiel trained at the New York Film Academy and at ESRA (Paris).
She has directed 3 short films: Black Tears, Joseph Story and The Diver's Syndrome which received the award for "Best Director and Cinematography" at the London GNIFF. For 4 months, Cindy worked as a war reporter on the Israeli border with Lebanon and Syria. Aged 20, at the frontier of these different worlds, Cindy began filming and producing Trance Therapy, her first full-length film. Trance Therapy was filmed over 4 years. Today, she's writing a new mini-series project : "JNOUN ", shot in the Parisian suburb.
